The awards, now in their second year, run in conjunction with the LinuxUser & Developer Expo. The judges included eight Linux experts including Keir Thomas, editor LinuxUser & Developer, Graham Taylor, Director, OpenForum Europe, Jono Bacon, esteemed Linux author, Alastair Kergon, director, UK Unix User Group and Peter Hayes, Manager, UK, OSDL.

Others nominated in the data storage category were IBM's Tivoli Storage Management System and Ardenta/Greenpeace UK SAN Solution.

Additionally, ITS-Linux, an Arkeia certified partner, received the Best Business Solution Provider Award. Other Arkeia UK partners include NCE Europe, Sweet Valley Solutions and Cristie Data Products.
