A new release of the Jaws PDF Editor™ Software Development Kit (SDK) that enables developers building applications for the enterprise market to include flexible PDF viewing, interaction, markup and manipulation in their products, is launched today by Global Graphics, experts in developing technology for open document and print solutions.

Version 3.0 of the Jaws PDF Editor SDK provides native PDF 1.5 compatibility; offers improved screen rendering fidelity; a wider choice of language support with localisation to Italian, Dutch and Spanish (in addition to English, French, German, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean); and, gives developers the ability to implement enhanced features for searching PDF documents.

Jaws PDF Editor SDK offers a comprehensive and flexible solution by enabling developers and integrators to create completely customized applications and PDF-enabled workflows, without the installation of any third party components, as well as to add PDF capabilities to existing business applications. Through its’ wide application development environment it requires little development overhead resulting in rapid implementation.

Increased search capabilities
Jaws PDF Editor SDK Version 3.0 also increases the choices available to developers for implementing search options. It gives greater freedom for how search results are displayed and for how search-term highlighting is performed when a PDF document provided by the SDK is searched either by the in-built or external, search engine.

Powerful but low cost
The Jaws PDF Editor SDK consists of a COM interface that facilitates links to the various features within the SDK. Using ActiveX control via languages that support COM Automation, the Jaws PDF Editor SDK enables PDF file display, navigation, interaction, mark-up and manipulation. The SDK’s COM interface to the Jaws PDF Editor shell provides a highly-configurable and intuitive access to the software’s libraries. This gives developers extensive functionality and control including: PDF display; file display views, navigation and interaction; thumbnails; bookmarks: comments and markup; document assembly and manipulation; editing tasks, and print preview.

Compatibility and availability
Jaws PDF Editor SDK is supported as a development tool on the following platforms: Windows XP (Professional SP2), Windows 2000 (SP4 Server and Professional), and Windows 2003 Server.
Applications developed with the Jaws PDF Editor SDK are supported on the following platforms Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000 SP4 (Server and Professional) Windows XP (SP2), Windows 2003 Server running Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3, Windows 2000 Server running Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server 3. Development environment support is for Visual C ++ v6, C#, Visual Basic(v 6 and .NET), Visual Studio .NET 2003, Delphi (v7 and later), and, C++ Builder.
